Difference between BDrip & BRrip

Highlights

1. BDrip and BRrip are two recent additions to pirated movie formats.
2. BDrip is a movie ripped directly from a Blu-ray disc.
3. BRrip is encoded from a Blu-ray release, which is in itself a ripped version. Thus, BRrip is a compressed version of an already ripped Blu-ray disc.

Introduction

BDrip and BRrip are two recent types of pirated movie formats that are becoming popular among movie buffs. While they are similar to DVD rips, they are both obtained from a Blu-ray disc as the source. However, there is a slight difference between the two formats. BDrip is a movie ripped directly from a Blu-ray disc, while BRrip is encoded from a Blu-ray release, which is already a ripped version. This means that BRrip is a compressed version of an already ripped Blu-ray disc. If the source has any technical problems, such as aspect ratio, it will show up in both the BDrip and BRrip versions. Both formats can be easily burned on regular DVD media and played back on all DVD players, but to fully enjoy the superior quality video, an HDTV is recommended. It is difficult to tell the difference between a BDrip and a BRrip unless the person making the rips is attentive to detail.
