Introduction
On March 31, 2011, Olivia posted an article comparing two toy models made by WowWee Ltd. called Robotyrannus and Roboreptile. These toys are miniature versions of real creatures that once ruled the world.
Roboreptile
Roboreptile is a robot toy equipped with infrared eyes and sound sensors. It can explore its surroundings and avoid obstacles. The toy can mimic the behaviors of the giant animals it is based on, including standing on its hind legs and attacking. It was first launched in China in 2006 and later released worldwide.
Robotyrannus
Robotyrannus is a variation of Roboreptile and has a distinct appearance with horns and a dorsal fin. It is especially popular in the US, UK, and Canada. Interestingly, in the US, it is referred to as Roboreptile rather than its original name, Robotyrannus.
Toy Characteristics
Contrary to their funny appearances, these toys operate in three modes: happy, hungry, and hooded. When in the hungry mode, which is the default setting, Roboreptile is ready to attack. In the angry mode, it becomes a fast-moving and feisty little robot. Despite not being considered cute, children all over the world are fascinated by these toys.
